Our very first online Corona-proof event

Zontaclub Brussel Zavel ( area 6 District 27) organized its very first online Corona-proof YWPA Club Award Celebration! Members gathered together with the winner Kika Verbinnen, the 7 other applicants and the last year’s winner. Kika is a student at KTA Etterbeek.

Glad to see that our event has been hosted on twitter by Zonta International.

Holding those celebrations, even during Coronatimes remain really important and the meeting was very rewarding not only for all the young participating women but certainly also for all Zontian members present at the meeting.

Every year, each participant receives the book Lean in, by Sheryl Sandberg, who urges women to “lean in” -- to take risks and be ambitious in their professional goals. Change will come when women speak up, gain confidence, demand more help at home, and ascend to more leadership positions.

Despite the total lockdown, our Chair of the YWPA committee, Dominique Walravens – joined by her 14 year old daughter, visited all the particpants living in Brussels by bike to give them, respecting social distancing, their well deserved book. Do I need to see that those young women were very impressed by this noble initiative of Dominique. Thank you Dominique for this inspiring initiative!
